No Repeat Victory For Man Of Steel

On 19th February Man Of Steel headed to Lingfield for his second run of the season to aim for a repeat winning result in the Hunter Chase. The race shaped up to be plenty hot enough with hot favourite Saddlers Encore and well-backed winner Rouge Et Blanc both serving up good competition. He ran on very strongly under Johnny Bailey, who gave a great ride, from 2 out to gain 3rd place; Steel was up against it giving 1 stone to the winner & 8lb away to 2nd placed horse. The result is probably better than the race he ran but it was good to get a placing and we will aim for a ladies race next time out as he will benefit from the lighter weight of 11 stone.
