We feel immensely proud to see our young horses continue to progress and succeed under rules for their new connections, each becoming multiple winners!
Quick Sharpener scored his second novice hurdle on Sunday as he cruised home to win by 10 lengths at Wetherby for Dr Richard Newland, Charlie Hammond and Foxtrot Racing. We purchased him as a 3yo from Timmy Love with Ed Bailey Bloodstock from Doncaster May Store Sales. He showed lots of scope and potential straight away, and he went on to win a 4&5yo Maiden race at Guilsborough PTP on his second start in March last year. He was then purchased by Foxtrot Racing and quickly notched up his first win on Boxing Day. We are sure ‘Timmy’ still has lots of winning left in him to do and we are really excited to follow his career under rules! Timmy is named after a dear close friend, who was also Joe’s Godfather, that passed away last year – Michael Raynor. Raynor was always the first to celebrate and make sure that a ‘quick sharpener’ was always on hand.
Nick Sutton’s homebred Santos Blue made it a hattrick of wins after scoring the bet365 Handicap Hurdle at Kelso on ITV on Saturday with Ben aboard for Dan Skelton. ‘Crunchie’ came to us after he was broken in and won a PTP bumper on his racecourse debut at Revesby Park, showing tremendous promise. He and Ben have struck up a fantastic partnership under rules, and it has been fantastic to see him progress since leaving the pointing ranks. Congratulations to the Sutton family!
